ISOC -Internet Society is the organization which ‘governs the internet’. The Internet Society provides leadership in addressing issues that confront the future of the Internet, and is the organizational home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) ,the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and ICANN (which keeps records of all the registered domain names on the web).

The membership of ISOC is open and (totally) free and the local chapters exist to enable internet ‘users’ to contribute towards ‘shaping its future’.
